The Historic Doe Creek Schoolhouse is one of Tennessee’s oldest surviving one-room log schoolhouses.  Built in the Reconstruction Era around 1870, it was originally constructed from hand-hewn poplar logs and served as both a school and a meeting place for a Baptist congregation. The logs were transported to the site by oxen, making it a rare example of early 19th-century construction
